Jacob Allanby 35778152 Project Proposal. For this project, I want to create something I can actually use in my life. I considered my options and landed on something work-related. As I work at an ice-cream store, I have decided to create a blog site on my server, specifically for public opinions on ideas and preferences regarding flavours. Although my superiors can change flavour output based on sales, having a personal connection specified for their opinions could increase these sales even further. I take a lot of pride in my work, and this is an opportunity to elevate my work experience and build interpersonal connections with my customers. I will provide the current 15 flavours we make and ask for feedback on each, as well as ideas for other flavours. I want to have 3 main pages (tabs) for this site. The main page, the customer comments page, and the contacts page. I hope to set up a liking system that puts the most-liked posts at the top of the blog in a customer comments tab, which gauges what option is most popular, enables customer collaboration, and makes it easier for me to see the most-liked responses. I want to add a polling system to the main page that displays the top five most-liked flavours and creates a monthly poll for customers to interact with. I will have a leaderboard at the top of the main page for the top three voted flavours, dedicated to the winners. I also want to add a contacts page that lets users send feedback directly to me via email. I will ask work for permission to use their logo on the site, as well as images I have taken of each flavour made, to improve the user experience. I will likely use Copyleft Creative Commons as my licensing for this project, specifically CC BY-NC (Attribution-NonCommercial). My reasoning is that users need to be able to access and edit their posts on the site. Users will be able to redistribute the site with credit to the owner (me) and without charge. It will be non-commercial, as users will not be able to make a profit from the site, and it will also be attribution-based, as even if copied and shared, credit will be given to me.
